Cameron Hood is an award-winning writer, director, producer, and animator best known for directing DreamWorks' multi award-winning short "First Flight." Beginning in 1997, while at DreamWorks Animation, Cameron contributed on "The Prince of Egypt," continuing on to most of Dreamworks Animation’s other major titles, such as "Kung Fu Panda 2." He also played a major role co-creating and bringing DreamWorks Animation's "Megamind" to the big screen.

After leaving DreamWorks in 2011, Cameron became a story artist at Illumination Entertainment. Adding his talents to the worldwide box office hit "Despicable Me 2" and the recent global box office hits "The Secret Life of Pets," "Minions Movie," and "Sing."

Most recently, Cameron founded Cameron Hood Studios, which has helped develop animated features such as "Groove Tails" with Imprint Entertainment and multi award winning superstar Jamie Foxx. Cameron was also one of the key creative voices for "The Ark and the Aardvark (Higher Ground)" with Unified Pictures, and "Born To Be Wild" with Route One Films. Currently Cameron Hood Studios is developing a huge four quadrant animated feature film "Monday Night Roar!!!" with WWE Studios in Los Angeles, California.

Cameron is also hard at work developing his own I.P. slate of original animated features and television projects, soon to be beloved by audiences everywhere with his elite team at WaTSTUDIO? in Los Angeles.

In 2002, Cameron began teaching at the world-renowned Gnomon School of Visual Effects. He hosted Gnomon's international best-selling "Character Animation Lecture Series," teaching students and professionals the art of feature character animation.

When DreamWorks was moving from 2D to 3D, Jeffery Katzenberg and the senior creative executives asked Cameron to share his knowledge along side the training staff to get the crew ready for the next creative chapter of the studio, all the while maintaining his positions as a Story Artist and Character Animator.

With the success of his Gnomon lecture series, Cameron is very well known in most circles of the animation world. Particularly, in most of Asia where the lectures help bridge the knowledge between animators from the West to the East. Recently he was invited to give a "Master Class" Lecture series as a guest artist at the world renowned Beijing Film Academy in March of 2018.

Cameron graduated from Sheridan College in 1997 from the prestigious Classical Animation Program with a Bachelor's Degree. Hood, an avid Looney Tunes aficionado, started his career as a summer animation trainee in 1996 when Warner Bros. invited him to study under animation legend Chuck Jones. It was a dream come for the Toronto native. Since, Cameron Hood has been living and working in Los Angeles permanently since August of 1997. Cameron is of duel citizenship; American and Canadian.
